Having a good weekend? We are.
We’re in Pasadena (heavenly weather) enjoying the weekend of our Commissioning exercises. That is, of course the celebration of the commissioning and ordination of Salvation Army Officers. On Sunday, we will commission 57 new Lieutenants to the care and glory of God.
So far we’ve been blessed by the meetings of the Territorial Executive Council, a concert by the Western Territory Staff Songsters, the Commencement Meeting of the Disciples of the Cross Session, a Silver Star Luncheon, acknowledging those who have influenced the Cadets along the journey of their lives, and a sold-out Amy Grant Concert. I’m listening to her sing from one of her recordings as I write this. She was terrific.
Today, we’ve already shared in two special breakfast meetings. The Candidates Breakfast was a success with the Chief Secretary speaking and the ARC Breakfast meeting was a blessing as well. Carolyn and I chose to attend the ARC Breakfast as a change this year to recognize their wonderful ministry.
Carolyn’s now off to the Encore events. These events are a showing of youth music groups, soloists, dancers, timbrelists and more. It’s very exciting.
There’s more to come. You can catch many of the events at onlinecorps.net through out the weekend. Our territorial website will guide you through the schedule.
Pray for us. We expect this weekend is making a difference in the lives of many. Hallelujah!
“But there’s far more to life for us. We’re citizens of high heaven! We’re waiting the arrival of the Savior, the Master, Jesus Christ, who will transform our earthy bodies into glorious bodies like his own. He’ll make us beautiful and whole with the same powerful skill by which he is putting everything as it should be, under and around him.” Philippians 3:20 MSG
