We readily accept the command of Jesus to love God and to love our neighbor as ourselves. It might be the defining command of The Salvation Army.
So when we have an offensive neighbor? We love them.
When we have a disagreeable neighbor? We love them.
When we have a neighbor that doesn’t like us? We love them.
When we have a neighbor with a different belief? We love them.
When we have a neighbor that isn’t neighborly? We love them.
Jesus’ love for us is always unconditional. So should our love for others.
The question is who is not our neighbor?
He answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”
