Salvation Army Vision Network

SAVN Dedication

Bless The Lord O my soul and all that is within me, bless His holy name. I greet you today in the name of The Lord Jesus Christ. He is my Savior, Friend and Lord. I commend Him to each of you today for the celebration of life He has for you and each of us.

This is an historic occasion. We dedicate this facility to God, but our gathering today goes way beyond these walls to realize a practical presence and impact of ministry that, focused here, travels around the world and into eternity, all by the grace of God.

Never before have we had the opportunity to reach more people, cultures, communities, families and individuals than we do today. If you agree with me that Jesus came to this world in the fullness of time and at the perfect moment, then understand that we, in the fullness of time have been presented with a dynamic potential that changes everything.

The Salvation Army is officially recognized in 126 countries around the world. With the invention and purposeful ministry of the Salvation Army Vision Network, The Salvation Army is now in every country, and every town, all at the same time. We are the progenitors of a new paradigm that changes the way we can reach people to help them and to offer the way of Salvation in the name of God.

Our medium reflects the best of Jesus’ teaching. He was an avid story teller who used parables to reveal the deep truths of God’s love for all and His unconditional care for each of us. The SAVN ministries communicate the stories of many whose lives have been transformed by God’s saving grace, reaching us in terms we understand, value and remember.

We currently offer outreach support in the areas of addictions, abuse, homelessness, Bible study, youth issues, prostitution and more. These doors of ministry needs are not limited at all by this medium as it is flexible enough to adjust and redirect as needed by people of all walks of life.

Our challenge is to be available 24/7 and in more and more languages. We need to be culturally relevant and socially appropriate in a Biblical context and Salvationist mission. The newest dimension of the SAVN construct are our Social Media Soldiers. These represent the voluntary Christian force that moves this ministry from the virtual to the actual. We cannot depend upon digital dynamics alone to facilitate a beautiful and personal relationship with God. A relationship with God always includes interpersonal relationships with others who are believers and others who are pre-believers.

The Salvation Army in the USA Western Territory is committed to this endeavor with real support and leadership in place to actualize and develop the myriads of mission possibilities that God allows and encourages. We have the facility. We have the equipment. We have the personnel. We have the imagination…and we have the faith to see this into this new day.

I’m expecting that individuals will come to faith and grow in their faith by the thousands. I’m believing that we can increase the fighting force of The Salvation Army here and around the world with countless converts and committed Christians. These are the days of great possibility and the Salvation Army Vision Network is positioned to be the vehicle to make much of it happen.

Your partnership today is important to us. We need you to continue to value this good ministry with your personal involvement and encouragement. New ideas are often challenged by our comfort with what we know. Let us all move forward here today, knowing that this is God’s good work, consistent with the adaptable and creative movement known as The Salvation Army whose mission is to win the world for Jesus.

The Scriptures speak to an eternal audience and prove themselves relevant through all generations. Listen to Psalm 19 in the context of SAVN.tv…

Psalm 19
New International Version (NIV)

The heavens declare the glory of God;
    the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

Day after day they pour forth speech;
    night after night they reveal knowledge.

They have no speech, they use no words;
    no sound is heard from them.

Yet their voice goes out into all the earth,
    their words to the ends of the world.

As the Territorial Commander of the Salvation Army USA Western Territory, I dedicate this facility and it’s mission to the glory of God and the salvation of the world, in Jesus name.
