Ever since I can remember, I’ve been a solution oriented person. As situations present themselves, I find it more effective to approach the solution to a problem than to find fault, assess blame and commiserate.
Now, of course, part of the solution is to sort out the dynamics of the problem and recognize where the plan went off course, but let’s move on to the better way through.
Listening to the news today, I’m now surprised when an international or national problem is not the fault of the president. It seems the media is captured with the idea that he’s to blame for most anything. While none are guiltless in life, I’m not so interested in this kind of response, although, the makeup of the news is mostly to get you and I to tune in long enough to see their fee paying commercials.
Won’t it be a great day when these media outlets begin to focus on solutions for us to give our attention?
So I am somewhat perplexed as to how to get there as a solution.
Maybe it’s in the way we listen. Perhaps we need to listen more objectively and stop enjoying the reinforcement of our perspectives.
I suppose that’s why people listen to one station more than another…and we need to laugh more in the process.
