God’s word says, “I am the LORD your God; consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am holy.” Lev 11:44
It also says, “It is God’s will that you should be sanctified:”1Th 4:3
We, then ought to aim to be sanctified and live for God. Being sanctified, also known as holiness means that we are set apart for the purposes of God. Such a person becomes known for love, honesty, integrity, grace, and Godliness. There are many more honorable attributes that would be fitting of a sanctified life, all to the glory of God.
This happens when we consciously decide to ask God for forgiveness from our sin, acknowledge our gratitude and love for Jesus who took our place in punishment and resurrected to show our hope for victorious living and heavenly eternity. Some find holiness at that moment, most others realize the need to submit entirely to God’s will after life’s failed experiences and further revelation by the Word of God. For these, a second blessing occurs and holy living is the result.
The sanctified life will enjoy the constant presence of God in love and action. His grace will abound in the sanctified life to represent God and resemble Him in all walks of life. It becomes a journey of joy, even through tough situations and relationships.
May I encourage you to seek the Holy Spirit for the sanctified life just now? It is the way to live.
