Three Bonnets

The bonnet has always been a symbol of The Salvation Army until the 1980’s. It was then that the woman’s bonnet was retired and replaced by the Ladies hat. At the moment, it too is a bit of a relic, only required at certain occasions.

Carol Dilly Jaudes performed a one woman play entitled “Three Bonnets” over the weekend at the annual conference of the Salvation Army West Retired Officer Association. It is, of course, masterful and compelling, telling creatively, the stories of Catherine Booth, General Evangeline Booth, and General Eva Burrows. Each of these heroes are a reminder of the grace of God in this extraordinary movement.

Thank you, Carol and Karen Krinjak for this powerful message. We are inspired, encouraged and informed. Hallelujah!

The revelation of God is whole
and pulls our lives together.
The signposts of God are clear
and point out the right road.
The life-maps of God are right,
showing the way to joy.
The directions of God are plain
and easy on the eyes.
God’s reputation is twenty-four-carat gold,
with a lifetime guarantee.
The decisions of God are accurate
down to the nth degree.

Psalms 19:7-9 (MSG)
