Time for a Renewal?

With the influence of a recent biography of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, my soul is stirring about the present need for a renewal of our movement. Sure, it starts with renewal in our movement and goes to a renewal of our movement. That means we have a way to go.

We are an army, fighting for the cause of heaven. Does that describe us? Well, sure, in many ways it does.

How are we doing with injustice? How about the starving? How about children dying by abortions? How about the significant changes towards the immorality of society?

In some instances we hold back so as not to inflame those we need, to do what little we can or to hope for a constructive presence going forward. If you read Bonhoeffer, you might draw parallels with pre-nazi Germany. I’m beginning to.

To prayer we go to sort out the quagmire and to see if we are giving life to our name.

How about a name change?

“When I said, “My foot is slipping,” your unfailing love, LORD, supported me. When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy.” Psalm 94:18-19NIV
