Treasure Hunting…

At any time of the year, there are treasure hunters seeking their fortune somewhere around the world. Historic artifacts, buried treasures, sunken ships and lost fortunes. Are oil drillers treasure hunting? How about miners?

It starts with a treasure map, whether that means a physical map or a series of clue or facts when put together a map of sorts to follow. It seems it must take a measure of imagination and faith that the signs are valid. It must be particularly thrilling to find the treasure after a complex or comprehensive search.

Here’s a scripture passage that give direction of us.

Matthew 6:19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

A relationship with God is the most precious treasure a person can have. Look no further.
